Fertile hatching eggs
Collected from our breeding pens and sold for your incubator or broody hen. Good for first-time hatchers and old hands alike. These are hatching eggs, not eating eggs.
Chicks
Raised in our brooder until they're ready for your backyard. We'll tell you whether they're sexed or straight run when you order.

Hatching tips & FAQ
How should I store eggs before setting them?
Pointy end down, somewhere cool (about 13–16°C) and out of the sun. Tilt or turn them daily and set within 7 days. Let them rest 12–24 hours after the drive home.
How long do they take to hatch?
21 days. Stop turning at day 18 and raise the humidity for lockdown. A day early or late is normal.
What does "straight run" mean?
Unsexed. You'll get a natural mix of hens and roosters, often about half and half. Have a plan for roosters and check your council's rules first.
Do you guarantee hatch rates?
No. Our eggs are fertile when they leave the farm, but transport, storage and your incubator all affect the hatch, and those are out of our hands.
How do I look after chicks in the first weeks?
A draught-free brooder at 32–35°C in week one, about 3°C cooler each week after. Chick starter crumble and clean, shallow water every day.
Do you post eggs?
No. Everything is farm pickup only in Gidgegannup. No postage, delivery or meet-ups.

Hi, I'm Amanda. Butt Nugget Farm is my little flock up in Gidgegannup, where the chooks free-range, get far too many treats and keep me busy every day.
I breed for healthy, friendly birds, and I love helping people start or grow their own backyard flock, whether it's your first incubator or your fiftieth chick.
And the name? Well, that's where the nuggets come from.
